ABOUT ME
Official Journalism and Sports Broadcasting Portfolio
I earned my Bachelor's degree from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas in 2023.

I am a talented broadcast professional who brings a customized approach to each individual broadcast. I have over five years of experience being a sports broadcaster, providing live on-air coverage of sporting events to capture the feeling of the game for viewers and listeners. I also have multiple years of experience in sales, video and audio production, graphic design, beat reporting, and broadcast production.
I thrive on being a detail-oriented team player with strong organizational skills. I can handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy to help my team and co-workers. I am a hardworking and passionate job seeker with strong organizational skills, eager to secure an entry-level sports broadcasting/commentating position.

Some of the skills that set me apart include using XSplit Broadcaster, proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop, Microsoft Excel to display data properly and efficiently, managing multiple YouTube and social media accounts, and sports photography.

VARSITY SPORTS LIVE
I have been a broadcaster for Varsity Sports Live, a high school sports live streaming service that serves over 10 high schools across eastern and southern Kansas, as well as Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS.
From 2020 to the present day, I have called and produced over 200 broadcasts at both the high school and junior college level. The wide range of sports I have play by play experience on include football, men's and women's basketball, softball, baseball, wrestling, and volleyball.

HOW LOCAL SPORTS BARS IN LAWRENCE ARE OPERATING DURING MARCH MADNESS
March,2021
Another Spring 2021 video story. This was inspired by the 23rd Street Brewery story that I did earlier in the year. This video brings attention to how sports bars in Lawrence were celebrating the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, or March Madness, coming back in 2021 after being canceled in 2020.
KU SAFERIDE PROBLEM/SOLUTION PACKAGE
April, 2022
This video project was created with the goal of helping raise awareness about the KU SafeRide service and how students can use it to get home safe during late hours in Lawrence.
BA.2 VARIANT DEPTH REPORTING PACKAGE
April, 2022
This video project involved me getting out of my comfort zone. I did in-depth research and reported about the new BA.2 variant in Douglas County, the state of Kansas, and the United States. Interviewed a wide range of people as well. From students at the University of Kansas to local infectious disease physicians at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and The University of Kansas Health System, and the Douglas County Health Department.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL POWER 5 CONFERENCES DATA STORY
May, 2022
This is a data story that I put together for my Data Storytelling class at KU during the 2022 spring semester. In this data story, I present data that looks at the amount of 3, 4, and 5-star recruits that each school in the Power 5 Conferences signed from 2017-2021 and how that impacted that conference's winning percentage and championships won. What we find out is that the SEC is the most dominant Power 5 Football Conference. Take a listen to the podcast and YouTube and see for yourself! You can view the data biography for this data story, the Excel spreadsheet that holds all of the data used for this story, and more using the links in the video's description.
